What is the Project about?
For this project, I illustrated chess pieces depicted as warriors on a battlefield, capturing the intense struggle of a pawn fighting valiantly until the very end. The artwork transforms the classic chess game into a dramatic narrative of perseverance and courage.
How did the concept came?
The concept grew from how a pawn is seen as the weakest piece on the board, yet if it fights its way to the other side, it can be promoted to a queen the strongest piece. That contrast between being underestimated and having hidden potential made a battlefield the perfect metaphor, so the illustration frames the pawn as a relentless soldier pushing forward through chaos, determined to earn its place as the most powerful piece.
